What's New About This System?

There is no "luxury vs. compact" system. The walls design and structural design are fundamental for health, safety, efficiency and sustainability.

Shop-Fabricated (Manufactured) Exterior Wall Panels

  • The dual insulation board wall panels are custom built in a shop then delivered to the site for erection.
  • The wall panels, with finishes, are the permanent perimeter walls of the building.
  • The panels consist of a wall cavity sandwiched between outside and inside sheets of polyiso insulation board.
  • Panels for the first level of a building extend to the  foundation and have built-in footer formwork for concrete placed on a prepared compacted earth/stone foundation, (can vary with site conditions).

Protection Underneath

  • An impervious mat is spread under the entire building, including perimeter footings, to protect against moisture, radon and insects.

Continuous Insulation

  • Continuous insulation extends across the walls and the supporting reinforced concrete frame.
  • When the panels are erected, the joining of two panels becomes a column form and the top of the panel becomes a lintel form.
  • The first level from footer to lintel is a single monolithic reinforced concrete frame without cold joints.

Reinforced Concrete Floors

  • Elevated slabs are integrated with the column/lintel frame.
  • Flat concrete roofs may serve as patios or greenhouses.
  • Slabs accommodate all floor finish options.

Flexible with Options

  • Slabs may accommodate heating and cooling with air or water.
  • Flat concrete roofs may serve as patios or greenhouses.
  • Floors may be concrete slabs or wooden floors with floor joists
  • The building may use a traditional attic/truss roof system or a flat roof or a combination.

Efficient Erection on Site

  • The wall panels are designed so that 2 persons can lift and install them.
  • Guides for installing reinforcing bars in the formwork during erection are built-in.
  • Across the top of the wall, lintel formwork is built-in, again with rebar guides.
  • The erection process includes rebar installation as each panel is installed.
  • 2 trained technicians can erect the first level of an average sized home in one day.
  • Multi-level wall panels are stacked on the prior level walls after placing concrete at the level below.
